By now, we have all seen the cringe-inducing video: Steve Harvey accidentally announces that Miss Columbia was the winner, when in fact, it was Miss Philippines. Miss Columbia, basking in the glory of what should have been the best moment of her life, quickly devolves into living her own personal hell, as she—along with the rest of the world—has to witness the correction of Harvey’s mistake.
Harvey apologized profusely after the show, but the damage is already done. The internet will move onto something else, eventually, but not before everyone has had their fun. One can only assume that naming the wrong contestant as the winner is pretty much the biggest (only?) mistake you can make as host of any award show or contest.
Hilariously awkward and embarrassing moments are something Tim & Sid know a thing or two about. That’s why they posed the Match Game One-Up Challenge of, “Steve Harvey’s Miss Universe mistake was more awkward than ____.”
