MILAN, Italy — Italy and AC Milan fullback Mattia De Sciglio requires surgery on his left knee, jeopardizing his spot on the Azzurri’s World Cup squad.
De Sciglio had just recovered from an injury but Milan says he has hurt his knee again by tearing his meniscus.
Milan says the operation will be held in the coming days.
The 20-year-old De Sciglio was a starter for Italy at this year’s Confederations Cup.
