ALMERIA, Spain — Struggling Spanish club Almeria fired its coach for the second time this season on Sunday.
Almeria said on its club website it let Juan Ignacio Martinez go a day after a 4-1 home loss to Levante left it in the relegation zone.
Martinez had taken over the club in December after the club fired predecessor Francisco Rodriguez.
Almeria hasn’t won in seven straight rounds.
The club says youth team coach Miguel Rivera, who coached one match following Rodriguez’s departure, will take charge again for Wednesday’s match at league leader Barcelona.
