MILAN, Italy — Striker Antonio Cassano has completed his switch from AC Milan to Inter Milan in a deal which sends former Sampdoria teammate Giampaolo Pazzini the other way.

Both clubs announced the news on their websites Wednesday, with Inter adding that Cassano has signed a two-year contract.

Cassano, who will wear his usual No. 99 jersey at Inter, says "finally, after an eternity, I have arrived at the club I support."

The 30-year-old Cassano had filed a transfer request following Milan’s sale of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain.

Pazzini scored 19 goals in 1 1/2 seasons with Inter but was not in coach Andrea Stramaccioni’s first-team plans.

Milan has also reportedly paid city rival Inter C7 million ($8.7 million).
