LONDON — Arsenal says it has agreed to sell midfielder Alex Song to Barcelona, one day after Robin van Persie left the Premier League club.
Barcelona says the transfer will be C19 million ($23.4 million) and Song will sign a five-year contract after he travels to Spain to agree personal terms and undergo a medical examination.
The Cameroon international did not feature in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Sunderland on the opening day of the Premier League season.
Arsenal sold Van Persie to Manchester United on Friday for a fee of about 24 million pounds ($38 million).
