Canadian men's soccer keeps trending up.
After a best-ever showing in the World Cup, the Canadian men's team is also bound for the under-20 edition of the tournament for the first time since 2007.
They moved on to the Concacaf semifinals and qualified for the U-20 World Cup with a 3-1 win over Jamaica on Wednesday in Puebla, Mexico.
Liam Mackenzie scored a brace, including a penalty at the start of extra time, leading Canada to victory. Fellow 19-year-old Max Vogele added an insurance goal on a highlight-reel volley from outside the box.
Canada will face Mexico's under-20 team in the semis on Friday at 10 p.m.
The top team other than the U.S. at the tournament will qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
