Larin becomes all-time leading scorer for Canadian men’s national team

Watch as Cyle Larin buries a beautiful strike to give Canada an early lead against the United States 1-0.

Cyle Larin now stands alone as the all-time leading scorer for the Canadian men's national team.

Larin put Canada ahead 1-0 on the United States seven minutes into the team's World Cup qualifying match at Tim Horton's Field in Hamilton on Sunday. U.S. goalkeeper Matt Turner'had his goal kick intercepted which eventually made its way over to Larin who found the back of the net.

The 26-year-old now has 23 goals in 44 appearances in international competition for Canada.

The Brampton, Ont., native moved past Dwayne De Rosario, who had 22 goals in 81 appearances.

Larin was called up to the men's national team back in 2014 in hopes of providing offence for the team. He was the first pick in the
2015 MLS Superdraft getting picked by Orlando City SC and now plays for Besiktas in the Turkish league.
