The Vancouver Whitecaps will kick off their CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinal against Lionel Messi and Inter Miami on April 24 at BC Place, the Major League Soccer club announced Thursday.
The return leg will take place April 30 at Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The Whitecaps advanced to the semifinal of the competition for the first time following a 2-2 draw with Mexican powerhouse Pumas UNAM on Wednesday in Mexico City.
The two sides ended the two-legged quarterfinal at 3-3 but the Whitecaps had the tiebreaker with more away goals.
A Canadian team has never won the top competition for clubs in North and Central America, and the Caribbean.
CF Montreal (then the Impact) was runner-up in 2015 and Toronto FC finished second in 2018.
