HAMILTON -- Kyriakos (Kyt) Selaidopoulos has joined Forge FC's coaching staff as an assistant to head coach and technical director Bobby Smyrniotis.

The 43-year-old Selaidopoulos has served as head coach of the Canadian futsal team since 2016. The Canadian Premier League team says he will continue with Canada through the CONCACAF Futsal Championship in May in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Selaidopoulos has served as technical director for Club de Soccer Mont-Royal Outremont since 2008.

The Montreal native played from 1995 to 2011 in the USISL D-3 Pro League, National Professional Soccer League, USL A-League, Canadian Professional Soccer League and the Major Indoor Soccer League.

``We're very pleased to add a coach of Kyt's quality to our staff,'' Smyrniotis said in a statement. ``He brings significant professional and international soccer experience and a wealth of football knowledge to our club both as a coach and former player, including many years of developing young talent in Quebec.''

Selaidopoulos represented Canada internationally in futsal from 2003 to 2012 and at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in 2006.
