Jamie Knight-Lebel will join Canada's men's soccer team for a series of upcoming friendlies.
Canada Soccer announced Monday that the 21-year-old Motherwell defender will replace injured Middlesbrough centre-back Alfie Jones.
Canada head coach Jesse Marsch said when he announced his 26-player roster last week that he had just learned Jones had been hurt while playing for his club.
Knight-Lebel was born in Montreal but grew up in Bristol, United Kingdom. He is on loan to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership from English Championship club Bristol City.
He has made three appearances for the Canadian senior men's team, most recently coming on as a substitute in the country's 2-0 victory over El Salvador during the Concacaf Gold Cup in June 2025.
Canada will host Chile in Toronto on Sept. 26 before taking on Peru in Montreal on Oct. 3. The Canadians will then face the United States in St. Paul, Minn., on Oct. 6.
