CF Montreal midfielder and Canadian international Ismael Kone is reportedly closing in on a permanent move to Sheffield United, sources tell soccer insider Fabrizio Romano.
The deal is reportedly worth a £4.5m fee with up to £5m included in the package with bonuses.
Kone previously was in talks to move to fellow Championship side Norwich City, though talks broke down when the club could not meet the financial demands from CF Montreal.
The 20-year-old has scored two goals and three assists for Montreal this season in 21 games played including 15 starts.
Montreal is second in the Eastern Conference with 49 points behind only Philadelphia, with a record of 16 wins, four losses and nine draws this season, eight spots ahead of fellow Canadian Eastern Conference members Toronto FC.
