Major League Soccer and its players union have reached a tentative agreement on a collective bargaining agreement.
The deal will be fully approved once the full player pool votes in favour of the CBA, per The Athletic's Sam Stejskal.
The league had threatened to lock out the players if an agreement wasn't reached before the proposed deadline. The union proposed extending the CBA with the league through the 2026 season, but MLS's plan included paying players their full salaries in 2021 in exchange for an extension through the 2027 season.
The 2021 campaign is set to kick off on April 3, although there is no word on how this affects the three Canadian teams given the border restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
