Most Canadians likely weren't awake to watch the first FIFA World Cup match on Tuesday, and it looks like the Argentinian team didn't get up either.
In a stunning result, the world's No. 51-ranked Saudi Arabia took down world No. 3 Argentina 2-1 in what was supposed to be a cakewalk for the tournament favourites, making it one of the greatest upsets in World Cup history.
Making the feat even more remarkable, Saudi Arabia snapped Argentina's 36-game unbeaten run, dating back to 2019.
It's also the first time the reigning Copa America champions have lost a match when superstar Lionel Messi scores since 2009.
Here are some of the best reactions to the astonishing upset.
