Two days after Canada locked up a spot in the 2022 World Cup, seven teams will do the same thing on Tuesday.

By the end of the day, 27 of the 32 spots will be determined, with two more to come on Wednesday -- very likely the United States and Mexico.

The World Cup draw is Friday in host Qatar, though three teams will still be unknown when it takes place.

Here's a look at the Tuesday docket around the world:

EUROPE

We won't get the much-anticipated Italy-Portgual showdown for a spot after the Italians' shock loss to North Macedonia last week.

Instead, it will be world No. 8 Portugal, heavily favoured against No. 67 North Macedonia at 2:45 p.m. ET / 11:45 a.m. PT.

North Madedonia, which never has made the World Cup, reached its first major tournament at Euro 2020. Portugal made the round of 16 at the 2018 World Cup

Elsewhere, No. 28 Poland hosts No. 17 Sweden at 2:45 p.m. ET for a spot. Sweden was a quarterfinalist in 2018, while Poland didn't make the knockout stage.

The final European qualifying spot won't be determined until June with action postponed because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine will face Scotland, with the winner earning a date against Wales for a Qatar berth.

AFRICA

Five home-and-home series wrap up on Tuesday.

Berths are awarded based on aggregate score.

No. 61 Ghana at No. 32 Nigeria (1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT, tied 0-0 in first game)

No. 34 Egypt at No. 18 Senegal (1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT, Egypt won 1-0 in first game)

No. 38 Cameroon at No. 43 Algeria (3:30 p.m. ET / 12:30 p.m. PT, Algeria won 1-0 in first game)

No. 66 Congo DR at No. 24 Morocco (3:30 p.m. ET / 12:30 p.m. PT, teams tied 1-1 in first game)

No. 48 Mali at No. 36 Tunisia (3:30 p.m. ET / 12:30 p.m. PT, Tunisia won first game 1-0)

SOUTH AMERICA

No. 2 Brazil, No. 4 Argentina, No. 44 Ecuador and No. 16 Uruguay have clinched spots heading into the final matchday for the continent's qualifying tournament on Tuesday.

No. 22 Peru (21 points), No. 19 Colombia (20) and No. 26 Chile (19) remain alive to finish fifth and advance to the interconfederation playoff in June for a one-game shot at another spot.

Chile hosts Uruguay, Peru entertains Paraguay and Colombia is in Venezuela. All games start at 7:30 p.m. ET 4:30 p.m. PT.

ASIA

No. 29 South Korea, No. 23 Japan, No. 21 Iran and No. 53 Saudi Arabia had their spots secured heading into the final matchday on Tuesday.

No. 37 Australia will face United Arab Emirates in a World Cup playoff in June after the No. 69 squad beat South Korea 1-0 on Tuesday. The Australia-UAE winner advanced to the interconfederation playoffs.

The UAE win eliminated Lebanon and Iraq.

WEDNESDAY

No. 111 New Zealand faces No. 142 Solomon Islands in Qatar for a spot in the interconfederation playoffs.

Also, CONCACAF play wraps up with the U.S. and Mexico all but assured of securing spots.

Assuming Costa Rica doesn't overtake them, that country will get the final spot in the interconfederation playoffs.

The CONCACAF fourth-place team faces the New Zealand-Solomon Islands winner, while the No. 5 team from South America meets the Australia-UAE winner for the other spot.
