York United FC adds to roster by signing three youth internationals

TORONTO -- York United FC added to its roster Friday by signing youth internationals from the Czech Republic, Denmark and Brazil.

Czech striker Martin Graiciar earned an under-16 cap for his country when he was just 14. Graiciar moved to England's Arsenal in 2015 and played for the Premier League team's youth squads before moving first to the Czech Republic and then Italy's Fiorentina.

Danish centre back Daniel Obbekjaer joins the Canadian Premier League team on a two-year contract, with additional club options through 2025. Obbekjaer, 19, made his senior pro debut at age 16 for Denmark's Odense,

Brazilian left back Eduardo Jesus signed a two-year deal with an option until the end of 2024. The 19-year-old, a former under-16 and under-17 international, spent his youth career at Brazil's Vitoria.

``The three international signings we made this week have all had some fantastic opportunities in the game, be that for club or country. But, they have chosen to be part of our organization, invest in our community and buy into what we are doing here,'' York CEO/president and GM Angus McNab said in a statement.

``It's genuinely thrilling and I hope people join us on this journey. It promises to be a very special year for York United FC.''
