BILBAO, Spain — Athletic Bilbao has announced that Ernesto Valverde will be its coach for a second time.

The Basque club said Valverde will be presented on Friday. It didn’t indicate the length of his contract.

Valverde, who will replace Argentine Marcelo Bielsa, coached Bilbao from 2003-05 in his first stint.

He has also coached Olympiacos, Espanyol, Villarreal and most recently Valencia last season.
