FRANKFURT — Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has had his suspension reduced to two Bundesliga matches.

The German Football Federation originally banned Boateng for three matches, but Bayern appealed. At a hearing on Monday, the federation reduced the ban to two matches.

Boateng was sent off early in last week’s 1-1 draw with Schalke.

He missed Saturday’s 2-0 victory in Stuttgart and will sit out the home match against Hamburger SV in the next round.
