BPL Power Rankings: QPR hits rock bottom

Every Tuesday I will break down the balance of power in the English Premier League with my power rankings.

1. MANCHESTER CITY

League position: 1st

Overall record: 16-3-2 (51 points)

Streak: one win

1st away win in 2 months lets them keep their 3-point cushion on United.

2. MANCHESTER UNITED

League position: 2nd

Overall record: 15-3-3 (48 points)

Streak: one win

We’re not going to lose three in a row under any circumstances.

3. TOTTENHAM

League position: 3rd

Overall record: 14-4-3 (46 points)

Streak: one tie (unbeaten in 7)

Still in the thick of the title race despite draw at home to Wolves.

4. CHELSEA

League position: 4th

Overall record: 12-4-5 (40 points)

Streak: two wins

Best performance from Torres in a very long time.

5. NEWCASTLE UNITED

League position: 6th

Overall record: 10-6-5 (36 points)

Streak: two wins

Scrapping by without Demba Ba – for now.

6. ARSENAL

League position: 5th

Overall record: 11-3-7 (36 points)

Streak: two losses

Demoralizing loss to the Swans indicative of Gunners’ entire season.

7. LIVERPOOL

League position: 7th

Overall record: 9-8-4 (35 points)

Streak: one tie (winless in 2)

Goal-scoring continues to be a problem, especially at home.

8. SWANSEA CITY

League position: 10th

Overall record: 6-8-7 (26 points)

Streak: two wins (unbeaten in 4)

Were full value for their win against Arsenal.

9. NORWICH CITY

League position: 9th

Overall record: 7-7-7 (28 points)

Streak: two wins (unbeaten in 3)

Canada’s Simeon Jackson continues to inspire the Canaries.

10. STOKE CITY

League position: 8th

Overall record: 8-6-7 (30 points)

Streak: one tie (unbeaten in 4)

Did quite well to stifle Liverpool at Anfield.

11. EVERTON

League position: 11th

Overall record: 7-4-10 (25 points)

Streak: one tie (winless in 3)

Keep close tabs on Landon Donovan – he seems up for it.

12. SUNDERLAND

League position: 12th

Overall record: 6-6-9 (24 points)

Streak: one loss

Have to learn how to bury their chances – especially against teams like Chelsea.

13. ASTON VILLA

League position: 13th

Overall record: 5-9-7 (24 points)

Streak: one tie (winless in 2)

Maybe the recalled Shay Given can spark some life into the Villains.

14. FULHAM

League position: 14th

Overall record: 5-8-8 (23 points)

Streak: one loss

How do you lose to 10-man Blackburn after their best player (Yakubu) is sent off?.

15. WEST BROMWICH ALBION

League position: 15th

Overall record: 6-4-11 (22 points)

Streak: three losses (winless in 4)

Roy Hodgon’s men have lost their way and slip closer towards the relegation zone.

16. BLACKBURN

League position: 17th

Overall record: 4-5-12 (17 points)

Streak: one win (winless in 4)

Lot s of turmoil off the field, but showed great heart on it Saturday against Fulham.

17. WOLVES

League position: 16th

Overall record: 4-6-11 (18 points)

Streak: one tie (winless in 7)

Allowed to steal away from White Hart Lane with a point thanks to Wayne Hennessey.

18. BOLTON

League position: 19th

Overall record: 5-1-15 (16 points)

Streak: one loss

There was no way they were going to upset United at Old Trafford.

19. WIGAN ATHLETIC

League position: 20th

Overall record: 3-6-12 (15 points)

Streak: one loss (winless in 5)

Looked solid vs. Man City, but continue to be architects of their own downfall.

20. QUEENS PARK RANGERS

League position: 18th

Overall record: 4-5-12 (17 points)

Streak: three losses (winless in 9)
