Brazil defender Luiz breaks nose at Confed Cup

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil _ Brazil defender David Luiz broke his nose during his country’s 2-0 victory over Mexico at the Confederations Cup.

Luiz said on Chelsea’s website he accidentally clashed with teammate Thiago Silva just before half time in Wednesday’s game.

The Chelsea player said “my nose is broken, but that’s part of the game.”

Luiz says he will “wait until the end of the competition and undergo surgery to fix it.”
