MUNICH, Germany — Defender Diego Contento is set to join French club Bordeaux from Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich.
The German champions say they’ve reached a transfer deal that would see Bayern keep 50 per cent of the transfer rights for the 24-year-old.
Bordeaux says Contento is due at the club Monday to undergo a medical and complete the move. Contento, whose contract in Munich ran through 2016, didn’t feature in Bayern’s pre-season team photo on Saturday.
