LAUSANNE, Switzerland — The Court of Arbitration for Sport should decide within days if a FIFA transfer ban imposed on newly promoted French club Nantes should be lifted.

The court says the verdict from a hearing held last Thursday should be published "by the end of next week."

Nantes is awaiting the ruling before strengthening its squad to play in Ligue 1 next season.

FIFA ordered a transfer embargo through January 2014 after ruling that Nantes induced Guinea forward Ismael Bangoura to break his contract with Al Nasr of Dubai in January 2012.

Nantes and Bangoura claimed he could leave because his salary wasn’t paid.

Bangoura appealed to CAS against a four-month ban imposed by FIFA.

Al Nasr also appealed seeking more compensation, after FIFA awarded (euro)4.5 million ($5.8 million).
