CPL Roundup: Cavalry FC beats FC Edmonton to maintain unbeaten start

EDMONTON — Sergio Camargo struck twice as Cavalry FC beat FC Edmonton 3-0 on Saturday in Canadian Premier League action.

Camargo opened the scoring in the 66th minute, then added a second in the 73rd to help Cavalry FC (6-0-0) win its sixth straight game to open the season.

Nico Pasquotti capped the victory with a goal in the 77th.

FC Edmonton (1-4-1) has lost four in a row and sits last in the seven-team league standings.

TORONTO — Ryan McCurdy scored an own goal in the 36th minute to give York9 FC (1-2-3) its first win of the season. Pacific FC (1-4-2) is winless in its last five games.

HAMILTON — Marco Bustos opened the scoring with a goal in the first minute, and Jordan Murrell gifted an own goal for the winner in the 90th as Forge (5-2-1) beat Valour (3-4-0) for its fourth win in a row.
