LONDON — Crystal Palace has signed Spain under-20 captain Jose Campana from Sevilla for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old midfielder signed a four-year deal at newly-promoted Palace.

Campana says “it was a dream to play in England, especially in the Premier League. I hope to help the team stay in the league and then move forward.”

Campana has made 20 league appearances for Sevilla and captained Spain’s team to the Under-20 World Cup quarterfinals this month.

He progressed through the ranks at Sevilla but rejected the offer of a new contract.

Campana says “over the last two years, I’ve had some problems with my hometown club, but I’m really excited to play in the Premier League.”
