RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — Rio de Janeiro’s Fluminense says it has signed Chelsea midfielder Deco to a two-year contract.
The team says on its website that the 32-year-old Deco will be formally introduced on Monday. It gave no further details on Saturday.
Brazilian-born Deco played for Portugal at the World Cup in South Africa.
Before joining Chelsea he played for Brazil’s Corinthians and Portugal’s Benfica, Alverca, Salgueiro and Porto. He also played for Barcelona.
Fluminense says that during his 14-year career, Deco played 594 games and scored 108 times.
