Sometimes life’s just not fair.

After a scintillating first half, where the Canadian men’s national sliced and diced through Belgium, Canada is down 1-0.

Canada earned a penalty kick and had the most shots of any team in a half without a goal since 2006, with 14 to Belgium’s four.

Despite trailing at the half, the Canadians proved they belonged in the tournament — and had their fans feeling proud of the team’s performance against the No. 2 side in the world.
