Eden Hazard hints at Chelsea exit amid transfer speculation

The Soccer Central Panel breakdown how Belgium was able to beat England 2-0 and claim third place at the 2018 World Cup.

Mere moments after Belgium’s World Cup came to a close, Eden Hazard made it clear that he is weighing his options this summer.

Hazard told HLN’s Kristof Terreur that “it might be time to discover different” from Chelsea, while also saying it’s ultimately the club’s decision if he stays or goes.

The 27-year-old also said he was encouraged by Dries Mertens’s review of new Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri, who was officially unveiled on Saturday.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked to Hazard this summer. Terreur also confirmed Barca have made contact.

Real Madrid have pegged Hazard as one possible candidate to replace the outgoing Cristiano Ronaldo following his transfer to Juventus. Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have also been mentioned by the Spanish press.

Hazard has spent the last six seasons with Chelsea, scoring 89 goals in 300 appearances across all competitions. He’s also won two Premier League titles with the Blues.
