MADRID, Spain — A hamstring injury has ruled Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas out of Spain’s upcoming matches against Belarus and Germany.

An exam on Tuesday showed the hamstring was not torn, but there was enough discomfort for Spain to not consider him for the games.

Villarreal midfielder Bruno Soriano replaced Fabregas in the squad.

Spain plays Belarus on Saturday in a Euro 2016 qualifier, then Germany in a friendly three days later.
