Has FIFA 18 provided a glimpse into the future?

A simulated game between Toronto FC and the Seattle Sounders was played ahead of Saturday’s MLS Cup final, with TFC edging the Sounders 2-1.

Jozy Altidore scored the winning goal after a Sebastian Giovinco free kick opened the scoring. Clint Dempsey equalized with a powerful header. Both sides exchanged a few quality opportunities before Altidore powered the decisive tally past Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei.

The accuracy of these simulations varies. EA Sports correctly predicted that the New England Patriots would win the Super Bowl this past February. However, they also had the Nashville Predators topping the Montreal Canadiens in seven games.
