MUNICH — Former Bayern Munich defender Breno will be released from prison before Christmas.
Munich court spokeswoman Barbara Stockinger says the 25-year-old Brazilian will be released on Dec. 20 after serving two-thirds of his prison term.
Breno was convicted of aggravated arson, and sentenced to three years and nine months in prison in July 2012 for setting his rented villa on fire.
He has been enjoying day-parole privileges since 2013, and has been working in Bayern’s youth section.
