OTTAWA — Former Toronto FC forward Andrew Wiedeman has signed with Ottawa Fury FC of the North American Soccer League.

"Andrew will bring a different dimension to our front line," Fury FC head coach Marc Dos Santos said in a statement Monday. "He’s a dynamic player with a great work ethic and he will definitely add something to our offence."

Wiedeman spent five years in MLS with Toronto and FC Dallas. Thirty-six of his 44 career MLS appearances came with Toronto.

The California native, a Generation Adidas player, was taken in the second round, 21st overall, by Dallas in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft after a college career at the University of California.

Ottawa opens the 2015 NASL spring season April 4 in Carolina against the RailHawks.
