MONTREAL — Germany clinched top spot in Group B with a 5-1 rout of Brazil on Tuesday at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Sara Daebritz led Germany (2-0-1) with three goals, while Pauline Bremer scored the other two.
Carol scored for Brazil (0-2-1), which led 1-0 at halftime before losing control of the match.
Germany will play its quarter-final in Edmonton on Saturday against the second-place team in Group A.
Brazil finished in last place in the group.

Rose Lavelle also scored for the U.S. (2-1-0), which will play the winner from Group A in Toronto in Saturday’s quarter-finals.
China finished with a record of 0-1-2.
