It appears that Emanuel Santos could take some pointers from Jose Antonio Navarro Arteaga on how to portray soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo’s face on a statue.
Back in March, Santos was commissioned to create a bust of Ronaldo after the airport in Madeira, Portugal was named after him. Safe to say, people were not thrilled with the portrayal of the Portuguese soccer star and the Internet had a field day.
The new piece by Arteaga will be on display in Real Madrid’s official museum and it brought some peace to fans.

A side-by-side view of the artists’ statues shows a striking difference in their portrayal of Ronaldo.
Arteaga told El Mundo that he was asked to take on the project after his son begged him to do it when he saw the bust made in Madeira. It looks like he made the right decision.
