Bastian Schweinsteiger is new to life in Major League Soccer, so you can hardly blame him if he’s still adjusting to the particular quirks of playing in North America.
The German soccer legend, who joined Chicago Fire in March, got a taste of what life is like for the rest of us on Thursday when his team arrived at the airport.
A fan requested a photo with members of the Fire, and Schweinsteiger ended up playing cameraman. The result was documented by Chicago assistant coach Eric Gehrig.
This poor lady asked for a picture with the @ChicagoFire players…if she only knew Let's get 3 2moro! #cf97 pic.twitter.com/ei3JH9hrBE

Lest fans think that Schweinsteiger was unintentionally slighted in Chicago, the midfielder’s new home, Gehrig clarified on Twitter:
Fellow MLSer and former Toronto FC goalkeeper Stefan Frei even chimed in:
@eGehrig16 @ChicagoFire Welcome to MLS @BSchweinsteiger

Chicago (3-1-2) is in town to face TFC (1-1-4) on Friday. Since joining the Fire, Schweinsteiger has tallied two goals and an assist in three starts.
