BOURNEMOUTH, England — Jack Wilshere has played his last game on loan at Bournemouth after the midfielder’s injury problems struck again.

Bournemouth said Wednesday that Wilshere has a hairline fracture of his left leg and will miss the remaining five games of the season.

Wilshere, who is on a season-long loan at Bournemouth from Arsenal, sustained the injury in the 4-0 loss at Tottenham on Saturday.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe said Wilshere "has made a huge contribution to our season, both on and off the pitch."

Wilshere has been plagued by injuries since breaking into the Arsenal team in the 2010-11 season.
