John Oliver proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was as good as his word.
The host of Last Week Tonight “settled a debt with America” on Sunday night by drinking an entire Bud Light Lime and tasting each item on the McDonald’s Dollar Menu after Sepp Blatter’s resignation from FIFA.
On his show the previous week, Oliver implored FIFA’s major sponsors to pull their support for the organization following Blatter’s controversial re-election as its president.
“Budweiser, if you pull your support and help get rid of Blatter I will put my mouth where my mouth is and I will personally drink your disgusting items,” Oliver said at the time.
Following Blatter’s resignation last week, Oliver honoured his pledge by downing a Bud Light Lime in a matter of seconds.
Earlier in the segment he also took at least one bite of everything on the McDonald’s Dollar Menu.
While Oliver may not have enjoyed choking down products he has openly criticized in the past, he can rest easy knowing he kept his promise.
