TURIN, Italy — Two Juventus fans died and up to 30 more were injured in a bus accident on the way to Tuesday’s Champions League game with Real Madrid in Turin, news reports said.
The accident occurred in Etroubles in the Aosta region, near the Swiss border, the ANSA news agency said, adding that the fans aboard were likely Italian immigrants living in Switzerland.
The bus apparently toppled over at a curve in the road.
Juventus posted a statement on its website offering condolences to the victims’ families and announced that it has received permission from UEFA to observe a moment of silence before the game.
