MILAN — Juventus moved strengthened its attacking options by signing Croatia forward Mario Mandzukic on Monday from Atletico Madrid for 19 million euros ($21.5 million).

Juventus said on its website that Mandzukic signed a four-year contract. He’s the second high-profile forward to join the Serie A champion and Champions League runner-up, which also signed Paulo Dybala from Palermo.

They could help fill the absence of Carlos Tevez, who has been linked with a return to Argentina and club Boca Juniors.

Serie A rival Inter Milan, meanwhile, was close to completing a deal for highly rated Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, who was in the Italian city for a medical exam on Monday.
