Kaboul leaves Spurs after 8 years for Sunderland

SUNDERLAND, England — French centre back Younes Kaboul has joined Sunderland from fellow English Premier League side Tottenham, ending his eight-year spell at White Hart Lane.

Sunderland announced its fourth transfer of the off-season on Thursday, without disclosing the fee.

Kaboul, who has agreed to a four-year deal, joined Tottenham from Auxerre in 2007.

Sunderland has also signed Uruguay centre back Sebastian Coates, Adam Matthews, and Netherlands midfielder Jeremain Lens ahead of the 2015-16 season.
