LIVERPOOL, England — Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers says Luis Suarez is “chomping at the bit” to return from his biting ban in the League Cup against Manchester United on Wednesday.

The Uruguay striker missed the start of the season while serving a 10-game suspension for sinking his teeth into Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic during a Premier League game in April.

After being denied a move away from Liverpool, with Arsenal’s bids rejected, Suarez is now back in a contention for a team he hoped to leave.

Rodgers is yet to decide whether Suarez will feature at Old Trafford.

The manager says it’s been a “really difficult time for him not playing. … He’s really chomping at the bit to help the team. Everyone knows the depth of his quality and his attitude.”
