MANCHESTER, England — Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira will stay at the English Premier League club next season after agreeing to a one-year contract extension.
The 33-year-old Frenchman joined City on an initial six-month deal in January after spending nearly four years at Inter Milan.
He played 14 times for City as it finished fifth and missed out on a place in next season’s Champions League.
Vieira, who won the Premier League three times with Arsenal, was left off of France’s squad for this month’s World Cup in South Africa.
