MANCHESTER, England — Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has returned to training almost seven months after breaking his right leg.

Shaw sustained a double fracture during a Champions League game at PSV Eindhoven on Sept. 15.

United confirmed Shaw completed his first training session since the injury on Monday after midfielder Juan Mata posted a picture on Instagram.

The 20-year-old Shaw is unlikely to play for United before the end of the season.

United is fifth in the Premier League, a point behind Manchester City, but still in contention for the FA Cup.
