MONTREAL — Montreal Impact forward Bernardo Corradi’s season is over.
The Major League Soccer club announced Friday that Corradi will be out for up to six months with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The 35-year-old injured the knee during practice on Monday.
Corradi recently reached a verbal agreement with the club to extend his contract that was set to expire at the end of the month. Technical director Nick De Santis said the agreement will be respected and the former Italy international will be paid.
Montreal has help on the way at forward as former Bologna striker Marco Di Vaio will begin his MLS career next week.
It was the second major injury to hit the club this week. Central defender Matteo Ferrari will miss four to six weeks with a thigh injury.
