MILAN, Italy — AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta will be out for at least a month after picking up a thigh injury in Wednesday’s Champions League loss to Barcelona.

Nesta was forced off in the 66th minute in the 3-2 loss.

Milan says on its website that "Nesta underwent medical tests today which revealed he has pulled a muscle. If there are no complications he will be out for around a month."

Nesta is the fourth Milan player to pick up a serious injury this season. Mathieu Flamini is out until February, while Antonio Cassano is likely to miss the rest of the campaign.

Gennaro Gattuso is back in training but unlikely to play until the new year.

Milan is in third place in Serie A, a point behind Lazio and Juventus.
