PESCARA, Italy — Pescara has confirmed Giovanni Stroppa will be its new coach next season and he has signed a one-year contract with the newly promoted club.
Stroppa replaces Serie B-winning coach Zdenek Zeman, who returned to Roma on Monday.
The 44-year-old Stroppa has limited coaching experience with his only first-team position being one season in charge of Lega Pro outfit Sudtirol-Alto Adige.
Zeman steered Pescara back to the topflight after a 19-year absence. A last-minute winner secured the title for Pescara on the last day of the season, on goal difference, after it finished level on points and head-to-head record with Torino.
