WOLVERHAMPTON, England — English Premier League newcomer Wolverhampton has signed Portugal World Cup goalkeeper Rui Patricio from Sporting Lisbon.

The transfer is subject to international clearance, Wolves said on Monday.

Patricio, who helped his country win the European Championship two years ago, has agreed on a four-year deal with the winner of the second-tier Championship.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper featured in Portugal’s 3-3 draw with Spain last Friday at the World Cup.
