LISBON, Portugal — FC Porto trounced Amadora 6-0 and won its third straight Portuguese league title on Saturday.

Porto’s triumph, achieved with five matches remaining, was the earliest of its 23 Portuguese league titles.

However, the two-time European champion risks a six-point deduction, either in this championship or the next, if it is found to have bribed referees in two matches in the 2003-04 season.

The Portuguese league’s disciplinary committee will rule on the allegations by the end of the month although an appeal by Porto against any conviction could carry the case beyond the end of the season.

Porto has 63 points from 25 games. Guimaraes, which drew 2-2 at Pacos Ferreira on Friday, was second with 45. Benfica follows with 44 points, three more than Setubal, which drew 0-0 at Academica on Saturday.

Porto midfielder Lucho Gonzalez opened the scoring in the ninth minute from Lisando Lopez’s pass, while fellow midfielder Tarik Sektioui added a second goal from close range two minutes later from Ricardo Cuaresma’s cross.

Cuaresma made it 3-0 in the 65th after being set up by midfielder Raul Meireles, then Amadora conceded an own-goal by defender Mauricio in the 70th. A Bruno Alves header eight minutes later added fifth goal and Lopez sealed the emphatic victory in the 87th to the delight of 50,138 supporters at Dragon Stadium.

On Sunday, Benfica visits Boavista, while Sporting hosts Braga. Also, it’s Maritimo vs. Nacional, and Leiria vs. Naval.

On Monday, Leixoes entertains Belenenses.
