WHAT STOOD OUT

Chelsea rebounds at home
James Sharman and the panel recaps Chelsea’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town, which featured Gonzalo Higuain scoring his first Premier League goals.

Big wins for both Manchester clubs
Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba combined on a fabulous goal as Manchester United earned a 1-0 victory at Leicester on Sunday. The win was the Red Devils’ seventh in eight Premier League games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since the Norwegian took over from Jose Mourinho.

The result also allowed United to climb over Arsenal in the standings and move into fifth place. It’s the club’s highest spot in the table since the opening week of the season. After struggling under Mourinho, Pogba and Rashford have 12 goals between them since Solskjaer was hired in December.

No to be outdone by their rivals, Manchester City earned a 3-1 home win over Arsenal later in the day, closing the gap on league leaders Liverpool to two points – although the Reds visit West Ham United on Monday.

Sergio Aguero was the star of the show, recording his 10th Premier League hat trick and opened the scoring after only 48 seconds.

WORTH REPEATING

“He works so hard, he pushes, and never gives up — he tries, tries, tries, tries. His effort, with or without the ball, is always very regular and consistent and that is the most important. Sonny is like a battery that you have — you work, work, work until the battery is gone.” – Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino on goal-scoring hero Son Heung-min.

THE GAME WITHIN THE GAME

It’s not difficult to understand why Fulham is losing games and lingering in the relegation zone with performances such as Saturday’s loss at Crystal Palace.

SIX PACK OF STATS

• Tottenham have gone 29 games without a draw in the Premier League, a new record.

• Fulham is the first side in history to lose eight consecutive top-flight London derby matches.

• Ruben Neves scored his 10th goal in all competitions for Wolves on Saturday, but only his second from inside the box, both of which have been penalties.

• Cardiff City’s Bobby Reid is the first player to score a brace on his birthday in the Premier League since Christian Benteke in December 2016.

• Since his debut for Manchester United in February 2016, Marcus Rashford has scored more goals in the Premier League (26) than any other player for the club.

• Sergio Aguero has scored both of the two quickest goals in the 2018-19 Premier League season in Manchester City’s last two league games (24 seconds vs. Newcastle, 46 seconds vs. Arsenal).

THREE STARS

1) Sergio Aguero, Manchester City: The Argentine was a one-man wrecking machine, recording a hat trick vs. Arsenal.

2) Gonzalo Higuain and Eden Hazard, Chelsea: The both bagged braces as the Blues ran rampant at Stamford Bridge.

3) Bobby Reid, Cardiff City: Scored both goals in what was a very emotional win at home for the Bluebirds.
