If you ever hear someone dismiss a soccer player as being “soft” maybe they’re simply referring to the player’s legs.
Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio will miss his team’s Champions League opener Wednesday against Apoel Nicosia due to a leg-shaving incident.
Asensio’s coach Zinedine Zidane confirmed reports out of Spain that his player picked up an infection after shaving his legs that resulted in him not being able to pull up his socks.
The 21-year-old did not practise this week due to the ailment.
It’s unclear at this time how long Asensio’s presumably smooth and aerodynamic leg will take to heal.
