MADRID, Spain — Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos will miss the remainder of 2010 with a knee injury, the Spanish club said on Saturday.

Ramos was ruled out for two to three weeks due to a ligament sprain in his right knee. The Spain defender will miss the club’s Spanish league matches against Zaragoza and Sevilla before the league takes its short winter break.

Ramos, a member of Spain’s World Cup and European Championship-winning teams, has made 16 appearances for Madrid this season, scoring once.

Madrid trails Spanish leader Barcelona by two points going into Sunday’s game at last-place Zaragoza.
