GLASGOW, Scotland — Celtic manager Ronny Deila is leaving the club at the end of the season.

The Norwegian made the announcement Wednesday, three days after Celtic lost to rival Rangers in a penalty shootout in the Scottish Cup semifinals.

Deila says "it is vital that the club comes first, instead of me being the focus."

He adds that "hopefully now the team and the club can be the focus as we enter this final important period of the season."

Delia, who took over at Celtic in June 2014, led the Glasgow side to a league and cup double last season. He is now trying to guide the club to its fifth straight Scottish league title. Celtic holds an eight-point lead over Aberdeen with five games to play.
